Featherbone Crochet Shrug is a ¾ sleeve cocoon cardigan with a timeless look and a unique squishy drapey stitch detail. The construction makes it easy to custom fit as you crochet it.

Yarn: Aran Weight Yarn. 1144 – 1302 yards / 1046 – 1191 meters.
Designed in Cascade 220 Superwash Aran.
Hook: 6.5 mm (K) and 5.5 mm (I)
Size: Wingspan, 42″ (44, 46, 48″) customizable. The sizes listed are a starting point and rough estimate for yarn amounts. This shrug is sized from forearm to forearm to be fitted as a ¾ sleeve. On average, the taller you are, the longer arms you may have. For example, the sample Featherbone Shrug is made to the 44”/111cm size which fits a 5’4” person with a proportionate wingspan to height.
Featherbone Shrug’s construction easily allows for adjustments and custom fit. You can pin and test wear the sleeve length before seaming. Sleeve openings can be made as narrow or wide as you want. Instructions on how to adjust the length are also provided.
Difficulty: Easy. The stitch is the only difficult part, but construction is easy. The pattern includes a video tutorial on the herringbone single crochet stitch.
Techniques Used: Crocheting to Gauge, Chain, Single Crochet, Herringbone Single Crochet, Blocking, and Crochet Mattress Stitch Seaming.
