Materials: Yarn, crochet hook to achieve a tight gauge, 10-12mm clear or colored safety eyes, 10-15mm triangle nose, white felt, stitch markers, pins, stuffing, and a tapestry needle. Claws and horns are sculpted with Polymer clay.
Finished Size: 4.5″ high, 3″ wide, up to 3″ long worsted weight yarn – 3″ high, 2″ wide, 2″ long. The size will vary on your gauge and yarn weight and brand. My demo Owlbear Amigurumi is done in DK weight yarn with a 3.5mm crochet hook.
Skills Needed: Ambitious – Crochet in a round/spiral, foundation chain rounds, single crochet increase and decrease, joining multiple live crochet edges, follow unpredictable pattern changes, constructing and sewing on many intricate small parts. Sculpting is another skill set but can be omitted.
