Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 61-85 yards, DK Weight Yarn 22-43 yards / 22-43 meters, crochet hook to achieve a tight gauge, 10mm safety eyes, scrap embroidery floss/fine yarn, stitch markers, pins, stuffing, and a tapestry needle.

I recommend you use both Worsted and DK yarn for the Stegosaurus Amigurumi Crochet. The DK yarn is for the plates and thagomizer, as the finer yarn makes better details. However, the pattern has instructions for Worsted weight plates and thagomizer.

Finished Size: Stegosaurus measures 9” from nose to tail tip, 5” tall, and 3” wide using worsted weight yarn and 4mm hook. The size will greatly depend on your gauge and yarn. My demo stegosaurus amigurumi crochet pattern is done in Red Heart Super Saver with a 4mm/ G6 sized hook and scrap DK with a 2.5mm/ C2 hook.

Skills Needed: Ambitious – Crochet in a round/spiral, foundation chain rounds, single crochet increase and decrease, half double crochet, follow unpredictable pattern changes, constructing and sewing on many intricate small parts.
